Glastonbury Fest Attracts Some of RED’s Best
RED-distributed artists Run The Jewels, DJ Shadow, Songhoy Blues, Temples, Shaggy, and Skepta will be performing at the infamous Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, Somerset, England. This marks the second occasion hip-hop duo Run The Jewel (El-P & Killer Mike) will be performing at the festival, as they continue on their “Run the World” Tour after previously dropping their junior album ‘Run The Jewels 3’ back in December. The now iconic North London grime collective known as BBK, including the infamous Skepta, will be returning to the festival for the second straight year. BBK made headlines last year after Drake left Young Money to sign with the Independent U.K. label. Songhoy Blues, Temples, and DJ shadow will all be returning to the stages at Worthy Farm for their second time as well. Reggae fusion singer Shaggy, of ‘That Love and ‘Seasons ft. OMI’ fame, will surely evoke nostalgia within the roaring crowd.
The Glastonbury Festival has remained a staple of U.K. culture throughout the last 47 years, with the first taking place the day after Jimi Hendrix passed away. GlastoFest, as it’s come to be known, is the largest Greenfield festival in the world, with 175,000 festival goers attending over five days of performances and events. The Festival is no stranger to high-caliber performances, with its Pyramid Stage attracting the likes of Adele, Sir Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, and Kanye West, just to name a few. The Glastonbury Festival is set for June 21-25, 2017.
